Christmas gift from God

Of all the Christmas joys, this is one of my favorites. Our oldest, Garner, went to church service with us as her class wasn’t meeting during the Christmas Eve service. I thought my heart was full after wonderful worship and teaching. Then, during the invitation, she asked to go forward. She wanted to accept Jesus into her heart. As she walked across the stage with her daddy, I snapped this picture. They gave red candles to those who made decisions for Christ (to use during the candlelight part of service). After she walked across the stage and got a red candle, there was someone there to pray for her. David and I circled around her as he prayed for her. David and I cried tears knowing that this was the beginning of her faith journey. We had prayed for this moment, but somehow, now that it was here I was overcome with emotion. While the timing of her decision wasn’t a surprise to God, it was a surprise to us, but a good surprise!

After service, I ran into a dear friend who was so excited for Garner’s decision! She later sent me a sweet picture of us standing around Garner as she was prayed for.

Thank You Lord for Your gift of salvation! I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth. 3 John 1:4
