What does Christmas surrender look like? It could look different for each person. For our family this year, Christmas surrender looked like giving away some toys to other boys and girls. Each of our children sacrificed items. Samuel’s sacrifice captured my heart. One of his donations was his “turtle ride along”. He got this gift when he was about 1 year old. He has put many miles on it and was not keen on the idea of donating it at first. After thinking about it, he decided to donate it to another boy or girl. He walked to the back of the van to meet the staff person from the donation center, who asked “little boy, are you sure you want to part with this?”. Samuel held out his hand, approved “yes” and surrendered his ride along. I snapped this picture of him as he did.
Thank You Lord for allowing Samuel’s heart to choose generosity and do it cheerfully! 2Corinthians 9:7
